VERI*FACTU compliance
Traceable invoices, verifiable by the AEAT
VERI*FACTU requires tamper-proof, verifiable invoicing records. Here's what it is, why it matters, and how ivaero handles it out of the box.
What is VERI*FACTU?
VERI*FACTU is the Spanish Tax Agency's (AEAT) system for generating and submitting verifiable invoicing records. Every invoice must produce a traceable, tamper-proof record, cryptographically chained to the previous one, that's sent to the AEAT continuously or made available for verification.
Why it matters
Under VERI*FACTU, a PDF is no longer enough — the law requires the invoicing software itself to guarantee the integrity of every record. Invoicing without meeting these requirements exposes your business to regulatory risk — ivaero handles it automatically, without changing how you work.
How ivaero does it
From record to the AEAT, with no manual work
Every invoice goes through the same technical process VERI*FACTU requires, automatically.
SHA-256 hash chain
Every record includes a cryptographic hash chained to the previous one, so any later alteration is immediately detectable.
Digital signature
Every submission is digitally signed before it's sent to the AEAT, guaranteeing its origin and integrity.
Continuous submission to the AEAT
Records are transmitted automatically, with no manual work, using VERI*FACTU's continuous-submission mode.
Verifiable QR code
Every invoice includes the QR code the AEAT requires so anyone can verify the record.
Security
Built to hold up under an audit
Encrypted certificates
The certificates used to sign submissions are always stored encrypted, never in plain text.
Tamper-proof records
The hash chain means modifying or deleting an already-submitted record is immediately detectable.
Full traceability
Every submission, response, and status is logged, ready to demonstrate compliance during an audit.
